Kolkata: In a fresh twist to the biggest controversy rocking the Bengali film industry over the past few weeks, director Raj Chakraborty has reportedly asked actress Subhasree Ganguly to pack her bags and move out of his Highland Park apartment.
According to Bengali daily Sangbad Pratidin, Raj woke up on 26 May morning and told Subhasree that he is a very emotional person and can’t carry on the relationship with her any longer. Raj claimed that he is under tremendous mental stress and want to exit the relationship. He reportedly told Subhasree that his chauffer will drop the actress off at her home. Raj, according the newspaper, also begged Subhasree not to reveal the incident to the media.
It may be recalled that the Raj-Subhasree relationship turned sour when the director’s former girlfriend Mimi Chakraborty returned to his life.
Both actresses attempted suicide but later denied everything to the Press.
Raj, meanwhile, is already engaged to Subhasree and the two are supposed to tie the knot in January.
But the wedding is in doldrums with the return of Mimi.
Tollywood insiders say that Subhasree’s eviction from Raj’s apartment is just the beginning of a new round of drama. It’s unlikely that Mimi played a part in the Raj-Subhasree breakup, observers say, as she is doing well in her career and is now eyeing Bollywood. Mimi’s latest release, Posto, is also doing well at the box office.
But both Raj and Mimi share a strong undercurrent of a different relationship than what appears before the eyes. People who have witnessed the two from close quarters, say that despite parting ways, Raj and Mimi still share a deep bond and they explore the space in their own way.
Raj and Subhasree were last seen together at the premiere of Amar Aponjon at Acropolis Mall. When photojournalists tried to click their picture, Raj allegedly threatened them with dire consequences. Subhasree had to intervene to settle the matter.
