Kolkata: The state BJP today alleged that it is not the Election Commission (EC) that conducts polls in West Bengal but it’s the “Mamata commission” which takes control over the booths.
“The entire country had witnessed the farce that took place in conducting elections to Raiganj, Domkal and Pujali municipalities. Almost all booths and wards were looted or jammed by miscreants of the ruling party,” said BJP spokesperson Sayantan Basu.
West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh alleged that the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) knows that they can never win an election if it is conducted fairly. TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee is paranoid over the rising popularity of BJP in the state. She knows that all skeletons of her party will be dug out once BJP comes to power, he added.
“The EC does not conduct polls in the state. Rather, it is the Mamata Banerjee commission that captures and rules over the booths, and creates serious hindrances in casting free and fair votes,” Ghosh added.
He further said that the state BJP has filed a police complaint demanding fresh polls in municipalities.
