Kolkata: Brace up for a dry Puja. Go on a gastronomical adventure, but be a teetotaller. At least that’s what the government of West Bengal wants you to do. All wine shops in the state will be closed from 28 September to 2 October. This includes Muharram and Gandhi Jayanti. The rule applies to both country and foreign liquor.
West Bengal Beverages Corporation Limited is in charge of liquor distribution in the state. It said in an order dated 14 September, that sale of liquor will remain suspended on these five days.
