Mumbai: We informed you a few days back that veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan is playing the role of a 102-year old father in 102 Not Out. This Umesh Shukla directed film will have Rishi Kapoor playing Bachchan’s 75-year old son. The first phase of shooting has ended and the second leg is expected to begin in the first leg of July.
If industry sources are to be believed, 102 Not Out is expected to release on 1 December, the same day on which Vidya Balan starrer Tumhari Sulu is slated to hit the screen. Balan plays a late night radio jockey in this comedy drama film directed by Suresh Triveni. The film has Manav Kaul playing Balan’s husband and Neha Dhupia her boss.
102 Not Out will have Bachchan and Kapoor sharing the screen for the first time in 26 years. The two actors had acted together in megahits like Amar Akbar Anthony, Kabhi Kabhie, Coolie, and Naseeb.
Now, with both Bachchan and Balan wielding considerable box office clout, it will be interesting to see how the two films fare against each other.
